Head of School
The Beacon Academy is pleased to announce the appointment of Ma. Elena Paterno Locsin as the Head Of School for its founding year on the new Academy Campus in Canlubang, Biñan, Laguna. Mailin will be making the transition from the Acting Head of School, Patrick Ritter, who will continue in his capacity as Consultant to the Academy, and will remain as HOS of The Beacon School at the Taguig campus.
Mailin is a Founding Trustee, member of the Advisory Council, former Assistant Head of School, Curriculum Coordinator, and current faculty member at the Beacon School. She has taught at the Maria Montessori Foundation High School, Xavier School, The Poveda Learning Center, and was Assistant Professor at The University of The Philippines, Diliman. She was on the founding board of Wordlab School and the CLASP Auditory-Verbal Center, Manila, and has served both organizations as Executive Director and Board Member. She is also a writer.
Mailin received her BA in Comparative Literature from the College of Arts and Letters at The University of The Philippines in 1982, and earned her M.Ed from the Graduate School of Education at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 1984.
The Beacon Academy welcomes Mailin onboard in her new capacity to establish the school on its new campus.
