Physical Education
The Grade 9 and Grade 10 Physical Education programmes are an extension of the Grade 7 and 8 Physical Education program.
The aims of the Physical Education and Health program are to provide experiential learning
- To enhance their self-esteem, sportsmanship, and overall social well-being;
- To develop efficient movement skills;
- To value personal fitness, healthy lifestyle, and safe living;
- To support a commitment to make and to act upon informed health decisions for self and for others as well, which may extend to immediate community.
There are four focus areas in Physical Education:
- Wellness (fitness, personal health choices, growth and development, interpersonal relationships, safe living)
- Sports and Games (individual, partner, and team sports)
- Movement/Rhythm Composition and Performance
- Outdoor & Adventure Challenges and Activities
There will also be a theory component to each focus area to reinforce skills and concepts learned.
