We are very proud of our team!  But we recognize that the experience and opportunity to participate in this global network was made possible through the kind assistance of a number of donations and we are truly grateful to those who believed in the Beacon Academy and wanted our community to reach for greater heights.

The Beacon Academy is a non-profit global high school for students from grades 9-12. It is located just 40 minutes from Makati in a green campus in Biñan, Laguna. The Beacon Academy applies Discussion-Based Learning in many of its classes: a teaching method that encourages thoughtful discourse and understanding of materials rather than memorization.

The World Scholar's Cup (WSC) is an international academic competition with students participating from across the globe. The competition was founded in 2006 and has continued to attract what it describes as "a global community of future scholars and leaders.” Using four events: team debates, scholar’s bowl, collaborative writing, and scholar’s challenge, the WSC encourages students to discover their limitless potential. It also aims to bring students from different backgrounds and cultures together to discuss global issues that are relevant today and for the future.
